Skin rejuvenation
Skin rejuvenation or collagen induction therapy treatments such as microneedling, microchannelling, and dry tattooing resurface aging skin by comfortably creating thousands of microscopic channels through the skin tissue, promoting the formation of new, tighter and healthier dermal tissue. The remarkable science behind these treatments involve exciting the fibroblasts in the skin to produce new collagen yielding smoother, younger looking skin. These are non-surgical, non-laser, natural and comfortable treatment for aging, compromised, and scarred skin with minimal down time, as opposed to more ablative treatments which require several days of recovery. Science has shown that there is little added benefit to more aggressive treatments.
Skin rejuvenation treatments are great for plumping the skin tissue and restoring a youthful look while also helping to break down the fibrous matrix of scar tissue. Skin rejuvenation treatments stimulate collagen and elastin proteins, produced by fibroblasts, without significant downtime for our clients. Our younger skin was complete with healthy collagen and elastic, but it deteriorates as we age. These treatments bring it back.
As people begin to age, usually in their 40s, skin cell regeneration slows down and old skin cells build up causing skin to look dull, sagging and aged. Microneedling, microchannelling, and dry tattooing techniques cause the promotion of growth factors resulting in scarless healing and the recovery of normal woven collagen rather than scar collagen. The fibroblasts produce collagen and elastin giving your skin a much more youthful appearance. Fractional lasers available today are based on the same theory, controlled dermal wounds, fostering a healing process which leads to healthier skin tissue. However, fractional lasers, as with other lasers, come with higher costs, more downtime and little scientific evidence that the greater damage leads to better results over microneedling, microchannelling, or dry tattooing.
Consider these procedures as processes which will require more than one session to achieve the optimal result of skin tightening and pigmentation. If more aggressive med-spa or cosmetic surgery clinic lasers are what clients elect, these treatments are the ideal way to support any improvements.
Skin rejuvenation treatments such as microneedling, microchannelling, dry tattooing are excellent for wrinkles and skin laxity. All treatments rely on the principle of introducing controlled injury to the skin tissue promoting healing and resulting healthier skin. Dry tattooing treatments yield great results in re-establishing melanin. Microchannelling treatments yield great results in lightening hyperpigmentation and stretchmarks.
Our clinic is proud to have recently added ProCell™ Microchannelling to this effective set of treatments. ProCell™ is based on the same science as microneedling and dry tattooing. It involves the introduction of stem cell serums which has been shown to yield additional improvements from each session. Single session results, due to the introduction of the serum, as well as the micro-filaments attached to the highly specialized device can be outstanding, depending on the area of treatment. Due to the higher cost of the clinic’s consumables, ProCell™ does carry a slightly higher price tag; however, it remains considerably lower than laser treatments. ProCell™ is also highly effective as a scar revision treatment.
At Anna Burns Permanent Cosmetics we offer industry collagen induction therapy treatments through the use of machine needling techniques. As your Atlanta permanent cosmetics professional, our staff will help you decide which treatment is best for your needs depending on your concerns.
Microneedling
Microneedling uses minute needle-clusters attached to a specialized machine. A clinician comfortably creates hundreds of tiny punctures in the skin’s epidermis layer promoting a cascade of healing responses that results in the production of new collagen and growth factors. The result, often noticed in as little as a single treatment, is a visible improvement in the appearance of acne scars, chicken pox scars, and wrinkles. This anti-aging and skin resurfacing treatment is ideal for hard to reach areas of the face such as wrinkles around your nose and mouth (naso-labial folds) and crow’s feet.
What to expect after your microneedling procedure.
Depending on how deeply the needle enters the epidermis, you may be slightly to moderately swollen and red at the treated areas. Minor itching may occur and the ‘needled’ tissue may exhibit the appearance of redness which will lighten and disappear in 1-2 days for most clients. Bring a sun hat to assure maximum protection on the way home. You will need to treat this skin with utmost care to give yourself the best results. We recommend using SPF 25 or higher sunblock to protect your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun.
